Funding across BTC, ETH and SOL reads balanced this morning. Nobody in the perp book looks stretched. The options desk is telling a more nervous story: implied vol sits above realized on both BTC and ETH, and the 25d skew has the downside tail bid on each.
| Asset | Funding (blended) | 25Δ skew | Implied / realized vol | Open interest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BTC | +9% (HL +11 / OKX +6) | -2.4 | 36.2 / 31.2 | $3.48B |
| ETH | +8% (HL +11 / OKX +5) | -4.8 | 51.4 / 45.6 | $2.60B |
| SOL | +8% (HL +11 / OKX +5) | n/a | n/a / 50.7 | $0.57B |
Funding annualized; negative means shorts pay longs. 25Δ risk reversal in vol points; negative means downside hedged. Snapshots, not positions.
The crowd lens is quiet. BTC blends at +8.6%, ETH at +8.1% and SOL at +7.8%, and all three carry a balanced label, so there is no meaningful lean to read off funding. Options are where the positioning lives. BTC implied runs 5.0 points above realized and ETH 5.8 points above, both flagged rich, so traders are paying for more movement than the tape has delivered. Skew points the same way: -2.4 on BTC and a steeper -4.8 on ETH, so puts are carrying the premium. Rich vol plus a bid downside tail is a consistent signal. It reads as hedging demand and is hard to square with complacency. ETH shows it most clearly. SOL has no options read today, only a realized figure of 50.7.
Kalshi puts BTC at $82,000 at 3% against an options-implied fair value of 1%, a +2.2pp gap. With the mark at $80,160, the prediction market is a little more willing to price the upside print than the options surface is.
The biggest deviation is GME, whose token sits at -2bp against a normal +68bp, a -70bp swing below its usual level. MSFT is close behind at -198bp versus a -130bp baseline, so the on-chain market is pricing a softer open there. GOOGL's -340bp looks large, but against its usual -311bp it has barely moved.
| Stock | Last close | Token vs last close |
|---|---|---|
| GME | $23 | -2 bp |
| MSFT | $555 | -198 bp |
| PLTR | $195 | +66 bp |
| INTC | $93 | -79 bp |
| GOOGL | $301 | -340 bp |
| NVDA | $213 | +75 bp |
Tokenized equities trade around the clock; gaps are vs the last regular-session close, a read on where the on-chain market prices the open.
Watch whether ETH's rich implied vol and -4.8 skew start to pull funding off its balanced reading, or whether the hedges simply bleed if the tape stays calm. On the equity side, GME and MSFT are the two tokens pricing the open meaningfully below their own norms. NVDA is the only name modestly firmer than usual, at +16bp.
