Options pay up for ETH while the tape stays quiet

ETH volatility is the standout: implied runs 11.7 points over realized, the richest gap on the board. Spot is pinned near $2,574 with funding reading balanced, so someone is paying for movement the market has not delivered yet.

Positioning & volatility

AssetFunding (blended)25Δ skewImplied / realized volOpen interest
BTC+7% (HL +11 / OKX +2)+0.836 / 31.4$3.45B
ETH+4% (HL +11 / OKX -3)-2.847.7 / 36$3.03B
SOL+3% (HL +11 / OKX -5)n/an/a / 50.4$0.66B

Funding annualized; negative means shorts pay longs. 25Δ risk reversal in vol points; negative means downside hedged. Snapshots, not positions.

Funding is balanced across all three majors once you strip out the HL/OKX noise, so there is no real crowd lean to read here. ETH is where the tension sits: options price more movement than the tape has shown, and the 25d skew at -2.8 says downside is the tail being bid. BTC shows the same vol-rich pattern at a milder 4.6 points with a near-flat skew, so its options are paying up without a clear directional tilt. SOL has no skew or IV print, leaving just a 50.4 realized to work with.

The widest cross-venue spreads today are on BTC and ETH funding between Hyperliquid and OKX, but the premium reads balanced on both, so this is a carry and mechanics dislocation rather than anyone leaning. Hyperliquid's funding clamps independently of the crowd. The real divergence worth watching is ETH options pricing far more movement than spot has given.

What the prediction markets believe

Kalshi puts BTC $88,000 and $90,000 each at 1% against roughly fair, and treats BTC $78,000 as a done deal at 100%, so the event market sees little upside tail priced near term.

On-chain vs Wall Street

NVDA shows the biggest deviation, 40bp below its own baseline, meaning the on-chain market is pricing its open softer than usual; AMZN is next at 35bp under baseline. CRCL's -263bp looks dramatic but sits near its usual -235bp discount, so it has barely moved.

StockLast closeToken vs last close
NVDA$239-48 bp
AMZN$256-23 bp
CRCL$84-263 bp
AAPL$335+39 bp
HOOD$112-155 bp
MSFT$529-2 bp

Tokenized equities trade around the clock; gaps are vs the last regular-session close, a read on where the on-chain market prices the open.

Bottom line

Watch whether ETH realized starts catching up to that rich implied, or whether the premium bleeds back out with spot still pinned. Balanced funding means no obvious squeeze setup into the open, and the tokenized tape is leaning slightly soft on the two biggest names.
