Funding reads balanced across the board, with BTC, ETH, and SOL all sitting in neutral territory and the two major venues agreeing on the numbers. The tension isn't in positioning today. It's in what the options market is paying for versus what price has actually done.
| Asset | Funding (blended) | 25Δ skew | Implied / realized vol | Open interest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BTC | +10% (HL +11 / OKX +9) | +2.1 | 36.1 / 33.8 | $3.26B |
| ETH | +9% (HL +11 / OKX +7) | +2.0 | 48.9 / 38.1 | $3.22B |
| SOL | +9% (HL +7 / OKX +11) | n/a | n/a / 53.6 | $0.66B |
Funding annualized; negative means shorts pay longs. 25Δ risk reversal in vol points; negative means downside hedged. Snapshots, not positions.
The crowd is quiet. BTC blended funding runs +10.0% with HL and OKX basically on the same page, ETH at +9.0% the same way, and SOL at +8.8%. All three flagged balanced, so neither side is being squeezed. Where it gets interesting is vol. ETH's implied sits 10.8 points above realized, the market paying up hard for movement the tape has not delivered. BTC shows a milder version of the same thing, implied 2.3 points rich. Skews are mildly positive on both, so the bid is for upside optionality rather than downside protection. Options are leaning toward a bigger ETH move than recent price action justifies.
Kalshi puts BTC above $90,000 at just 1% against a fair value of 0%, and above $80,000 at a full 100%. The current mark near $85,995 sits comfortably between those posts.
GME is the only name that actually moved, trading +267bp against a +183bp baseline for an +85bp deviation, where the on-chain market is pricing a firmer open. CRCL's +296bp and META's +20bp look big and small respectively but both sit right on their baselines, so neither has budged.
| Stock | Last close | Token vs last close |
|---|---|---|
| GME | $25 | +267 bp |
| MSFT | $517 | +78 bp |
| TSLA | $371 | -30 bp |
| NVDA | $234 | +70 bp |
| CRCL | $81 | +296 bp |
| META | $728 | +20 bp |
Tokenized equities trade around the clock; gaps are vs the last regular-session close, a read on where the on-chain market prices the open.
ETH is the one to watch into the open: implied vol is priced well above what the tape has delivered, so either realized catches up or that premium bleeds. BTC carries the same richness on a smaller scale. Funding gives no directional edge today, which puts the story squarely in vol.
