ETH funding splits the venues while options keep paying up

Bitcoin sits at $83,800 with funding balanced and both venues in lockstep. Ether is the outlier: the two books disagree on funding, and that split is confirmed by the premium, not just noise. Options across the board are pricing more movement than the tape has actually delivered.

Positioning & volatility

AssetFunding (blended)25Δ skewImplied / realized volOpen interest
BTC+3% (HL +3 / OKX +4)-0.535.6 / 35.6$2.97B
ETH+8% (HL +11 / OKX +6)+2.950.3 / 41.9$3.13B
SOL+10% (HL +11 / OKX +9)n/an/a / 57.9$0.68B

Funding annualized; negative means shorts pay longs. 25Δ risk reversal in vol points; negative means downside hedged. Snapshots, not positions.

ETH is where the crowd lean shows up. Funding blends to +8.3% with longs paying, and Hyperliquid at +10.9 running well ahead of OKX at +5.7 marks a real positioning divergence that the premium backs up. Skew there sits mildly positive at +2.9, so the downside tail is not the one being bid. On BTC the story is quieter: balanced funding, venues aligned, a nearly flat skew at -0.5, and implied vol dead even with realized at 35.6, though the label still reads that vol rich since options price at least as much movement as the tape gave. SOL funding is balanced and elevated at +10.1% with venues agreeing, and no options surface to read against realized of 57.9. The common thread across ETH and BTC is options carrying a premium the recent tape has not earned back.

The cleanest disagreement is ETH funding across venues. Hyperliquid longs are paying +10.9% while OKX sits at +5.7%, a spread the premium confirms as genuine positioning rather than mechanics. When one book leans harder than the other and the premium agrees, that is the tension to track.

What the prediction markets believe

The Kalshi market has BTC holding $80,000 pinned at 100% against a fair value of 100%, a half-point gap that says nothing anyone is willing to price differently.

On-chain vs Wall Street

The biggest deviation is tokenized GME, printing +145bp against its usual +246bp baseline, so it is sitting about a point below where it normally opens on-chain rather than showing strength. TSLA, AMZN, CRCL, COIN and GOOGL are all within roughly 20bp of their own baselines, meaning the on-chain open is pricing them essentially where they always sit.

StockLast closeToken vs last close
GME$24+145 bp
TSLA$353-73 bp
AMZN$247+0 bp
CRCL$84+50 bp
COIN$190+44 bp
GOOGL$341+117 bp

Tokenized equities trade around the clock; gaps are vs the last regular-session close, a read on where the on-chain market prices the open.

Bottom line

Watch whether the ETH venue funding split holds or closes into the open, since a premium-confirmed divergence tends to resolve one way. With implied vol running above realized on both BTC and ETH, the options market is braced for more movement than has shown up; the question is whether the tape catches up to what optionality costs.
