Bitcoin sits at $83,554 with the tape delivering more than the options are pricing. Ether flips that: implied runs slightly hot above realized even as the coin trades near $2,652. Both perps read balanced, so the story here is in the vol surface, not the crowd.
| Asset | Funding (blended) | 25Δ skew | Implied / realized vol | Open interest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BTC | +7% (HL +11 / OKX +2) | -1.3 | 35.9 / 36.9 | $3.16B |
| ETH | +6% (HL +11 / OKX +1) | +4.8 | 51.6 / 50.7 | $2.84B |
| SOL | +6% (HL +9 / OKX +2) | n/a | n/a / 57.3 | $0.67B |
Funding annualized; negative means shorts pay longs. 25Δ risk reversal in vol points; negative means downside hedged. Snapshots, not positions.
Funding is quiet across the board. BTC, ETH and SOL all read balanced, so nobody is leaning hard on the perp. On BTC, implied vol prints below realized by a point, meaning options are cheaper than what the tape has actually moved, and the 25d skew at -1.3 is close to flat with only a faint downside tilt. ETH is the mirror image: implied above realized by roughly a point, and a positive 4.8 skew that says the call side is bid. SOL gives no clean options read this morning, just a 57.3 realized that tells you it is the jumpiest of the three.
Watch whether BTC realized keeps outrunning implied or the two converge, because cheap vol against a moving tape is the tension into the open. On ETH, the paid-up options and positive skew say the market wants upside optionality even without funding pressure behind it. SOL is the one to eyeball for range, given it carries the highest realized and no options cover.
