Options price movement the tape refuses to deliver on BTC and ETH

Bitcoin sits at $64,944 with funding balanced and both venues agreeing there is no crowd lean. The story is in the vol surface: implied is running well above what price has actually done, on both majors.

Positioning & volatility

AssetFunding (blended)25Δ skewImplied / realized volOpen interest
BTC-0% (HL -2 / OKX +2)-3.834.4 / 27.9$2.32B
ETH+3% (HL +2 / OKX +5)-2.347.3 / 38.9$1.75B
SOL+6% (HL +11 / OKX +1)n/an/a / 37.3$0.30B

Funding annualized; negative means shorts pay longs. 25Δ risk reversal in vol points; negative means downside hedged. Snapshots, not positions.

Funding is quiet across the board. BTC and ETH both read balanced with Hyperliquid and OKX in agreement, so there is no crowded book to point at. Where the tension shows is vol against tape. BTC implied is 6.5 points over realized and ETH is 8.4 points over, meaning options are pricing more movement than the market has been delivering. Skew is mildly negative on both, so what hedging demand exists leans toward the downside, but it is soft. This is a market paying up for optionality while the underlying grinds.

SOL shows a wide Hyperliquid versus OKX funding split, HL at +10.9 against OKX +1.1. That is a cross-venue carry dislocation, not a positioning story: the premium reads balanced, and Hyperliquid funding swings on its own mechanics. Do not read it as one side leaning.

What the prediction markets believe

Kalshi has BTC above $60,000 pinned at 100% against a fair value of 100%, essentially no gap. With BTC near $64,944 that contract carries no information right now.

On-chain vs Wall Street

CRCL shows the largest deviation from its own baseline, sitting +36bp above where it normally prints versus the last close. TSLA, COIN and NVDA are all within a handful of basis points of their usual levels, so the on-chain market is pricing their opens roughly in line with the close.

StockLast closeToken vs last close
CRCL$63+150 bp
TSLA$319+72 bp
COIN$145+110 bp
NVDA$219+49 bp

Bottom line

Watch whether realized vol catches up to what options are charging on BTC and ETH, or whether the premium bleeds out as the tape stays quiet. Funding gives no directional tell. SOL's venue funding gap is noise, not a signal.
